The fun-filled annual all-you-can-eat ice cream party hosted by A Dream Come True to raise funds for seriously ill keiki and their families is slated for 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday, July 13, at the Edith Kanaka‘ole Multi-Purpose Stadium in Hilo.

Entertainment will be provided by the Puna Hongwanji Taiko Drummers, Kawai Maluia, Colt Cabana, Vizion 20/20 and Hawaiian Pure &Simple throughout the event.

There also will be numerous fun keiki games including face-painting, a tattoo artist, the keiki express train ride, the keiki ID by Hawaii Police Department, a Home Depot activity booth and a static display by Hawaii Fire Department.

Thousands of dollars in prizes for lucky drawings will be given away throughout the party. Winners must be present to claim their prize.

And, of course, included with the cost of admission is all the ice cream you can eat, plus an individual chili/rice bowl. Hot dogs, nachos, chili, teri Spam musubis, braddah pops, colored popcorn and cotton candy also will be available for purchase.

A total of 89 Big Island terminally and seriously ill keiki have been granted their dreams since 1985 by the nonprofit ADCT. Keiki younger than 17 years old have been assisted with having their dreams met — whether to assist the family with critical needs or take a trip of their dreams.

ADCT is dependent on businesses, community organizations and individual donors for its funding.

“All monies raised stays here on the Big Island for our keiki in need,” said ADCT President Lloyd Narimatsu. “To see firsthand the precious joy of helping our keiki couldn’t be realized without your love and generosity!”

Event chairs Richard and Jean Miyamoto want to remind the public that ADCT’s focus is now helping the child in need and also their families to help ease burdens they are facing.

Major sponsors of this year’s party are KTA Super Stores, KAPA, KBIG and Pint Size Corp.

Tickets are on sale for $10. Admission is free for children 3 and younger.

For tickets or more information, call Miyamoto at 959-7990 or email adct.bigisland@gmail.com. Tickets also can be purchased at the KTA Puainako courtesy counter and at the door the day of the event.
