Waimea library slates Microsoft Word workshop for beginners

Thelma Parker Memorial Public and School Library in Waimea is hosting Preparing Documents with Microsoft Word, a workshop designed for beginners, from 10 a.m.-noon Saturday, June 29, in the library meeting room.

All participants are encouraged to bring their own device to practice what’s covered in the workshop. The event is free and open to the public.

Arthur Goshtasby will lead the course. Goshtasby is a retired professor of computer science and engineering at Wright University in Ohio. He has degrees from the University of Tokyo Department of Electronics Engineering and Michigan State University Department of Computer Science.

The workshop will focus on key capabilities of Microsoft Word in creating various types of documents. Topics will include line, paragraph, and page formatting, adding headers and footers, inserting images and tables, comparing documents and saving a document in different formats. If time allows, attaching pictures and documents to emails and opening pictures and documents attached to emails will be covered.
