Internationally renowned fashion designer Anne Namba is returning to Hilo to stage her eagerly anticipated fashion show and sale from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday, June 15, at the Hawaii Japanese Center.

Doors open at 9:45 a.m. The fashion show starts at 10 a.m., followed by the sale, which will feature some items discounted by up to 50 percent.

Namba is best known for her use of exotic Asian silks in original, one-of-a-kind designs, and will be on hand to personally narrate the fashion show. This year, she will introduce to Hilo her latest line of washable clothing for women and men. Imagine all the beauty and elegance of an Anne Namba design combined with the convenience of wash-and-wear!

Eliminating trips to the dry cleaners plus lower price points make these designs all the more attractive.

The Hawaii-born Namba graduated from the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York and honed her skills in New York City, including a year working in the costume department at Radio City Music Hall. She returned to Hawaii in 1985 and launched her own boutique in 1989.

Admission to the fashion show is free and everyone is welcome. A portion of each sale will benefit the HJC, a nonprofit organization located at 751 Kanoelehua Ave.
