Say ‘no’ to Joe!

Joe Biden is a relic from a bygone era. He needs to look long and hard at his two failed presidential attempts, take a hint and get a hobby that’s anything other than accosting women.

He represents a flashback to the days we worked so hard to leave behind.

I wouldn’t automatically disqualify a candidate based on their age, but I will when that person refuses to keep pace with changing norms of acceptable behavior. (Don’t rub and hug women just because you like to!)

Biden has yet to accept responsibility for how uncomfortable he made women feel with his creepy touching. In fact, the day after he was publicly questioned about this behavior, he mocked concerns when he said to the camera just before he hugged yet another random person, “Don’t worry, she said I could do this.”

By belittling the feelings of women who felt unsafe by his touching, he minimizes their concerns. It’s long-past time for Joe to sit down, stop talking and just listen for a change. Maybe then, he actually WILL change.

Bible is pro-life

This is an answer to Leighton Loo’s “Abortion battle” in the June 9 Hawaii Tribune-Herald (Your Views).

I agree with Leighton in that the Bible does support “life” and is “pro-life” for all unborn babies. However, I have read the Bible all the way through at least 50 times and have not seen a single passage or scripture that endorses the opposite, or the “killing of the unborn.”

Leighton pointed out one in Hosea 13:16. That scripture verse, in its context, was talking about the invading armies that would decimate Samaria and “rip” the women’s abdomen’s out with their pregnant infants so there would be no future Samarians to come up against them.

God allowed that to happen to Samaria as a result of her sins. It does NOT support abortion.

The Bible is full of pro-life scriptures such as Jeremiah 1:4,5, as mentioned by Mr. Loo — including the saving of the infants by the Hebrew midwives in Exodus, when Pharaoh wanted to kill all male babies when they were born.

Also in Deuteronomy 30, God told the Israelites to “choose life.” And in the New Testament (2 Peter, chapter 3), it says, “It is not His will that any should perish.”

The Bible is pro-life. It is NOT pro-abortion. There are NO scriptures to support abortion!
