The Big Island Substance Abuse Council will host its seventh annual Summer Jam event July 27 at the Akook-Chinen Civic Auditorium in Hilo.

This year is a special event because BISAC is celebrating its 55th birthday. BISAC was awarded $2,500 from the Office of Hawaiian Affairs’ ‘Ahahui Grant to support the Summer Jam’s Health and Fitness Fair.

Annually, Summer Jam provides a free fun-filled event for the whole family.

“I am full of gratitude for the ongoing support of OHA to help us with our annual Summer Jam event,” said BISAC CEO Hannah Preston-Pita.

“We will have a strong man and woman contest, a powerlifting event, a bus pull, keiki rides and activities, Health and Fitness Fair and exhibition and an eat the street event. Our Summer Jam will have a little bit of everything for everyone.”
