Michael Del Mar, 73, of Pearl City, Oahu, formerly of Hilo, died March 6. Born in Clarin, Bohol, Philippines, he was a professional dance instructor for Arthur Murray, kali escrima grandmaster, 2014 inductee to the Martial Arts Masters Hall of Fame, limbo champion who performed in Tom Moffatt productions and U.S. Marines Vietnam War veteran. Celebration of life noon-3 p.m. Saturday, May 18, at Hilo Woman’s Club, 7 Lele St. Visitation 9-10 a.m. Tuesday, May 21, at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Papaikou. Mass at 10 a.m. Burial to follow at Hawaii Veterans Cemetery No. 2. Robert Thomas Kitchen, aka Robert Thomas, 71, of Kailua-Kona died April 23 at Kona Community Hospital. Born in Pasadena, Calif., he was an artist and owner of Robert Thomas Fine Art and Gifts and U.S. Army veteran. Venerando “Tata” “Vinny” Viloria Utrera, 77, of Kailua-Kona died April 12 at home. Born in San Vicente, Magsingal, Ilocos Sur, Philippines, he was a cook for the former Kona Lagoon Hotel, former Pottery Steakhouse and Big Island Grill, deli worker for KTA Super Stores and member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church. All-night vigil 6 p.m. Friday, May 24, at his home, 75-5943 Pamalo Place. Visitation again 9 a.m. Saturday, May 25, at St. Michael’s Catholic Church on Alii Drive. Mass at 10:30 a.m. Burial to follow at Kona Memorial Park in Holualoa. Casual attire; flowers welcome.
