Job seekers invited to job fair
The American Job Center Hawai’i will host a Job Fair from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Friday, May 24, at the Old Kona Airport Park Pavilion.
This event is free and open to the public.
Those interested in attending are encouraged to come prepared with resumes and dressed professionally, as interviews might be done on-site.
Businesses interested in participating can contact the Office of Housing and Community Development at 961-8379 for more information or to request a registration packet.
Space for booths is limited, so registration will be done on a first come, first served basis.
Adaptive aquatics program slated to begin in June
The Department of Parks and Recreation Aquatics Section announces the start of a new adaptive aquatics learn-to-swim program at the Pahoa Pool.
This program is for children with intellectual disabilities who might have a hard time learning in a traditional swim lesson setting.
It is intended for beginning-level swimmers ages 3-7, and will focus on water safety and skill development.
• Session one: 9-9:45 a.m. June 17, 19, 24 and 26.
• Session two: 9-9:45 a.m. July 1, 3, 8 and 10.
• Session three: 9-9:45 a.m. July 15, 17, 22 and 24.
Registration is underway and will be ongoing throughout the three sessions.
All potential participants must complete an in-water assessment prior to registering. To schedule an assessment, contact the ADA Recreation Specialist Kelly Deleon at 961-8681.
Each class will be limited to three swimmers. Program cost will be $10 per keiki per session.
