An earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 4.1 struck the southwest rift zone of Kilauea at 5:26 p.m. today.

The Pacific Tsunami Warning Center in Honolulu said no tsunami is expected from the quake, which could be felt in downtown Hilo.

According to the U.S. Geological Survey, the temblor was centered 27 miles south of Hilo and was about a half-mile deep.
