The Puna Hongwanji Buddhist Temple is hosting a Puna Spring Festival from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday (March 30) to share the temple with the community and bring everyone together for a fun-filled day.
During the event there will be craft vendors, food, kids activities (inflatable, games by Hilo Hongwanji Preschool, make-it-and-take-it crafts, face painting), prize giveaways, temple tours with the Rev. Satoshi Tomioka, information tables by community groups, Puna Hongwanji Boutique and entertainment/demonstrations by Merahi Productions, Hiccup Circus, Matsuri Dance, Puna Taiko, Puna Judo, yoga, PiYo Live and karate.
Temple tour times are 11 a.m., noon and 1 and 2 p.m.
The temple is hosting the festival as a way to thank the community and its members for their years of support. In October, Puna Hongwanji Buddhist Temple celebrates its 117th anniversary.
The temple is located at at 16-492 Old Volcano Road in Keaau.
