Police are seeking public assistance in locating a Keaau man in connection with a Monday morning shooting incident in Hawaiian Beaches.

Shortly after 6 a.m. Monday, police responded to a report of gunshots at Kawakawa Street in Hawaiian Beaches. Upon the officers’ arrival, a 26-year-old Pahoa woman reported that her ex-boyfriend, 31-year-old Wesley Kaimana Brooks, allegedly shot at her several times with an unspecified firearm.

The woman was uninjured.

The incident is classified as first-degree terroristic threatening and reckless endangering.

Brooks is described as being 5-feet 7-inches tall, weighing 160 pounds, with a medium build, black hair and brown eyes.

Also being sought is 32-year-old Carlos Lopez of Pahoa, who may be operating a green 1990s Toyota pickup truck. The truck last displayed Hawaii license plate HFF-131.

Residents are advised to not approach Brooks, who is considered armed and dangerous. Instead, the public is asked to call the police nonemergency number at 935-3311 to report Brooks’ or Lopez’s whereabouts. Those who prefer anonymity can call Crime Stoppers at 961-8300.
