Police have arrested a Puna man in connection with a fatal shooting on Monday.

On Tuesday morning, police detectives located 35-year-old Ryan Frederick Davis on Plumeria Street in Fern Acres and arrested him without incident for second-degree murder. Davis is currently in police custody as the investigation continues.

Police are seeking assistance in locating a man in connection with a fatal shooting in Puna on Monday.

Ryan Frederick Davis, a 35-year-old Puna resident, is being sought for questioning regarding the shooting death of 38-year-old Joshua John Santos on Monday morning.

Davis is described as 5 feet, 7 inches tall and approximately 230 pounds, with tan complexion, heavy build, unshaven, with neck-length curly hair and brown eyes. He also has multiple tattoos along both arms.

Santos was found unresponsive at a Fern Acres residence early Monday morning. An autopsy found his cause of death to be gunshot wounds to the chest and his death was ruled a homicide.

Citizens are advised to contact the police with information about Davis whereabouts, but are cautioned against approaching him as he is considered armed and dangerous.
