Kamehameha and Waiakea both left East Hawaii on Saturday and won on the road to maintain unbeaten BIIF baseball records.

Tai Atkins struck out nine in five shutout innings and contributed two hits at the plate as Kamehameha beat Kealakehe 8-1.

The Warriors (7-0) overcame six errors thanks to more good pitching. Kamehameha has allowed just six runs in BIIF play. Atkins didn’t walk a batter and allowed just one hit, and Braeden Coloma struck out three in two innings, allowing a run in the seventh when Kaden Baptista singled and came all the way around the score on an error.

The first three batters in the lineup combined for six of Kamehameha’s seven hits.

Atkins 2 for 3 with a run scored, Rydge Ishii was 2 for 3 with three runs scored and Dustin Asuncion was 2 for 3 with a pair of run-scoring singles. Coloma also drove in two runs.

Kainoa Jones pitched four innings and took the loss for the Waveriders (1-3).

Cody Hirata struck out eight in six innings for the Warriors (4-0), allowing a three-run home run to Canen Perreira in the third inning.

While Miyao delivered from the top of the lineup, Cody Kunimitsu clicked at the bottom of the order, knocking in two runs with singles. Braxton Cagampang also finished with two hits, and Safea Mauai drove in a run with a double in the seventh.

Kamakea yielded three runs on four hits and three walks with four strikeouts before Ricky Rapoza (one strikeout), Dante Medeiros (two) and Bryant Respicio-Mercado (two) each pitched a hitless inning at Keaau’s field.

Jonovan Kahoalii drove in two runs and Rapoza had a double for Keaau (1-3).

Kainalu Satkofsky went four innings in the loss for the Trojans (1-5). At the plate, Satkofsky doubled and drove in two runs.

Hilo 7, Kohala 0: Dayson Valentin threw 74 pitches in a shutout, and Tobey Jackson had three hits, including a triple, from the leadoff spot as host Hilo improved to 3-2.

Xaige Lancaster and Maui Ahuna collected two hits apiece for the Vikings – who committed just one error – and Ocean Gabonia hit a two- run triple.
