A pedestrian died Tuesday after being struck by a pickup truck in the midst of a three-vehicle collision in Mountain View.

Shortly after midnight Tuesday morning, a pickup truck turned left into the Mountain View Post Office from Highway 11, where it was struck by a southbound bus. The collision pushed the pickup truck into an unoccupied parked sedan and also into a pedestrian leaving the post office.

The driver of the pickup truck and the pedestrian were transported to the Hilo Medical Center, both in critical condition. The pedestrian later succumbed to his injuries.

The identity of the deceased is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.

The Hawaii Police Department is investigating the cause of the crash.
