KAILUA-KONA — A man originally charged with commercial promotion of marijuana last November was indicted Friday by a Kona grand jury.

The indictment filed in Kona Circuit Court says Vincent W. Parker possessed 2 pounds or more of marijuana, as well as had possession or cultivation of 100 or more plants in the Kona area on Nov. 28, 2018.

Parker was charged with first- and second-degree commercial promotion of marijuana.

Parker was originally charged in District Court on two counts of second-degree commercial promotion of marijuana at the time of the incident in November.

On Jan. 31, Parker was present for a preliminary hearing in the case, but the prosecution was not ready to proceed. As a result, the prosecution requested discharge of charges, which was granted.

In a separate indictment Friday, the grand jury charged a woman with commercial promotion.

According to court documents, Heidi Sierra Campbell was found in possession of 100 or more marijuana plants in the Ka‘u area on Feb. 13, 2018.

She also was charged with first-degree commercial promotion of marijuana.

Bench warrants were issued for Parker and Campbell.
