Marjorie Elaine Kaaumoana, 80, of Hilo died Feb. 11 at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Hilo, she was an employee of Volcano House, the former Naniloa Hotel and the former Orchid Isle Hotel. Kenneth Kalaulu Kekela Sr., 87, of Hilo died Feb. 3 at Legacy Hilo Rehabilitation and Nursing Center. Born in Hilo, he was a retired welder for the former Hilo Iron Works and member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Papaikou. Born in Waimea, she was a former telephone operator at Pearl Harbor and for the former Hawaiian Telephone Co. in Waimea, janitorial maintenance worker for the U.S. Postal Service and Waimea Medical Center, retired school bus driver for Ryusaki Corp. and member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Waimea 1st Ward. Visitation 9-11 a.m. Saturday (Feb. 23) at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Waimea. Funeral service at 11:30 a.m. Burial to follow at the Lindsey family plot. Casual attire. Erika Reel, 59, of Bay Point, Calif., and formerly of Hilo, died Feb. 3 in Concord, Calif. Born in Tokyo, she was a four-decade-plus veteran of the hospitality industry in the San Francisco Bay area.
