Mayliko Nishimoto Carter, 52, of Hilo died Feb. 6. Born in Yomitan Village, Okinawa, Japan, she grew up in Hilo and lived 30-plus years in Rhode Island before returning. Private services. No flowers or koden (monetary gifts). Memorial donations to Hawaii Care Choices, 1011 Waianuenue Ave., Hilo, HI 96720. Survived by husband, James R. Carter of Hilo; daughter, Jessie M. Reniere of Warwick, R.I.; parents, Glenn I. Nishimoto and Fumiko Yamauchi Nishimoto of Hilo; sister, Michele (Brian) Nishimoto-Souza of Honolulu; brother, Matt (Mae) Nishimoto of Torrance, Calif.; a niece and nephew. William Geiger, 86, of North Kohala died Jan. 29 at North Hawaii Community Hospital. Born in Germany, he was the owner of the former Vetters and a U.S. Army Korean War veteran. Private service. Anne Elizabeth Kekaula, 73, of Kailua-Kona died Jan. 29 at Kona Community Hospital. Born in Twin Falls, Idaho, she was the owner of Sam’s Hideaway. Private service held.
