The state Legislature is again considering creation of a new entity to manage Hawaii’s airports.

On Wednesday, the Senate Transportation Committee advanced a bill, introduced by Sen. Lorraine Inouye, creating a Hawaii Airports Corporation.

Lawmakers repeatedly have tried to pass such legislation, and came close last year. But the bill was killed at the last minute.

The bill will next be heard by the Senate Ways and Means Committee.
