Gov. David Ige selected new leaders for the state Board of Agriculture and state Department of Business, Economic Development and Tourism.

At Agriculture, Denise Albano is replacing Scott Enright as chairperson.

Albano was the department’s water director since 2016. Previously, she was president at The Nature Conservancy Hawaii, and founded or led community service organizations in San Francisco.

Phyllis Shimabukuro-Geiser will remain as deputy chairperson.

Ige is appointing Mike McCartney, his chief of staff since December 2014, to lead DBEDT.
