The Hawaii Police Department logged 11 fireworks-related complaint calls on New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day.

According to the incident log, eight of those calls were in Hilo, two in Ka‘u and one in Kona. The booking log listed no arrests on fireworks-related charges.

The Hawaii Fire Department logged no major fireworks-related incidents in East Hawaii, Battalion Chief Matthias Kusch said Wednesday.

“There may have been some on the company level, but none requiring multi-company response,” Kusch said.
