Riley Patterson /soccer

On a shortened Christmas sports week, the fleet-footed – not to mention fancy-footed – senior came up large again, helping to gift-wrap two victories for Hilo High boys soccer team.

Patterson scored two goals apiece in quality wins against Kealakehe (3-0) and Makua Lani (4-0), giving him 19 on the season for a Vikings team locked in a tight BIIF Division I playoff push.

Honorable mention goes to Kohala freshman O’Shen Cazimero, who hit a game-winning layup to spur the Cowboys’ boys basketball team to a victory at Kamehameha.
