UPDATE 12/19 9 a.m.: Banyan Saburo was apprehended by police Tuesday.

The Hawaii Police Department’s Kona Special Enforcement Unit is seeking the public’s assistance with locating Banyan Saburo Hanato, a 44-year-old man who frequents the Holualoa and Honalo areas.

Hanato is wanted on a warrant of arrest for revocation or modification of probation carrying a $20,000 bail. He’s described as 5 foot 6 inches, about 150 pounds, with black hair, a distinguishable scar on his right chest and multiple tattoos on his left upper arm, left wrist, left hand and fingers.

Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to call the police nonemergency number at 935-3311 or Crime Stoppers at 961-8300.
