Elsa Kure Agena, 68, of Kailua, Oahu, died Dec. 2 at Kuakini Medical Center in Honolulu. Born in Hilo, she retired from Tihati Productions as an accounting supervisor. Visitation 5:30-6:30 p.m. Sunday (Dec. 23) at Borthwick Maunakea Chapel, 1330 Maunakea St. in Honolulu. Celebration of Life at 6:30 p.m. Survived by husband, Bryan Agena of Kailua; daughter, Kristi McCabe of Kailua; son, Jaysen (Beth) Agena of Hilo; sisters, Gerry (Roy) Arakaki and Kayleen (Mapu) Kure of Hilo, son-in-law, Travis McCabe; two granddaughters, an aunt, nieces, nephews and cousins. Aquilino C. Corpuz, 88, of Keaau died Nov. 17 at Kona Community Hospital. Born in Laoag City, the Philippines, he was a retired macadamia nut and coffee picker. Visitation 5-6 p.m. Wednesday (Dec. 19) at Dodo Mortuary Chapel. Wake service at 6 p.m. All-night vigil to follow after 9 p.m. at the family home, 16-1508 Orchidland Drive (at 35th Avenue) in Keaau. Visitation again 9-10:30 a.m. Thursday (Dec. 20) at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Mass at 10:30 a.m. Casual attire; flowers welcome. Burial at Homelani Memorial Park Lehua Section. Survived by daughters, Fellie C. (Danny) Albano, Elsa C. Oriarte and Evelyn C. (Jose) Ramelb of Keaau; son, Orlando (Elda) Corpuz of Keaau; hanai children, Leo (Leonila) Ibasco of the Philippines and Matian Ibasco of Canada; sister, Esmenia C. (Rufino) Agpaoa of the Philippines; sisters-in-law, Virginia Corpuz and Rosita Corpuz of the Philippines; 18 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and cousins. Tsutomu “Tom” Omori, 93, of Papaikou died Nov. 20 at home. Born in Onomea, he was a retired cane truck driver for the former Hilo Coast Processing Co. and member of the Papaikou Hongwanji Mission Kyodan and ILWU. Private services held. Survived by wife, Sueko Omori of Papaikou; sons, Terence (Bridget) Omori of Mililani, Oahu, and Curtis Omori of Papaikou; daughter, Jan (Hugh) Kaneko of Holualoa; sister, Sachiko Matsuzaki of Papaikou; four grandchildren; nieces and nephews. John H. Robel Jr., 92, of Hawi died Dec. 8 at home. Born in Des Moines, Iowa, he was a retired electrician, a former owner of Robel Electric and co-owner of Johnny’s and The Stockage, member of IBEW Local 265 and the Elks Lodge 80 in Lincoln, Neb. Celebration of life at a later date. No flowers. Memorial donations to North Hawaii Hospice, 65-1328 Kawaihae Road, Kamuela, HI 96743. Survived by wife, Mary Jo Robel of Hawi; son, David Robel of Nebraska; daughters, Terry (Jerry) Williams and Denise (Bill) Blesso of Hawi; two grandsons and a great-grandson; nieces and nephews.
