Umi Kealoha scored 12 points Thursday and Matija Vitorovic added 11 as Hawaii Prep edged Hilo 51-48 in a closely contested boys basketball game to open the Cardinal Classic at Afook-Chinen Civic Auditorium.

Kekaukahi Alameda led all scorers with 16 points for the Vikings. Mason Galima added 12.

Saint Louis 65, Kamehameha-Hawaii 42: The ILH Crusaders took over in the second half to deny the Warriors, who were led by Kilohana Haasenritter’s 11 points.

Kamehameha led 13-7 going into the second quarter, but its trailed by one at the half and Saint Louis held a 39-17 advantage during the final two quarters.

Honokaa 59, St. Joseph 24: Isaac Jardine scored 16 points and Kalewa O’Neil added 12 as the Dragons eased to victory in the nightcap.

Nathan Faletoi led the Cardinals with nine points.
