Police are seeking an alleged parole violator they say should be considered dangerous and not approached by the public.

Douglas K. Louis, 38, is wanted on an arrest warrant from the Hawaii Paroling Authority.

Louis is known to frequent Pahala. He’s described as 5-foot-7 and 170 pounds.

He was sentenced to 10 years in prison in 2012 on felony burglary, theft and drug charges. He also has previous convictions on drug and domestic abuse charges.

Anyone with information is asked to call Sgt. Edward A, Buyten or Officer Stephen Kishimoto of the Kona Special Enforcement Unit at 326-4646, ext. 253. Those who prefer anonymity may call Crime Stoppers at 961-8300.

Police are also reminding the public that anyone who knowingly assists a wanted fugitive could be prosecuted for hindering prosecution.
