Zachary “Zack” Bradford Gibson, 52, of Honokaa died Nov. 4 at Hawaii Care Choices Pohai Malama Care Center. Born at the former Subic Bay U.S. Naval Station, Olongapo, Philippines, he was a Native Hawaiian farmer of medicinal plants for Pu‘u‘ala Farms and founder/owner of Kanaka Kava restaurant, a traditional awa bar in Kona. Celebration of life at a later date. Survived by parents, William E. Gibson and Kahala-Ann Trask Gibson; sister, Haunani Trask Gibson; brother, William Trask Gibson; former wife Johanna Gibson; extended ‘ohana. Arrangements by Dodo Mortuary.

Karen H. Hatayama, 55, of Honolulu died Oct. 9 at home. Born in Hilo, she was a legal secretary and member of Hilo Higashi Hongwanji. Private family services held. Ethelwyne Elizabeth Nahina, 79, of Hilo, formerly of Oahu, died Oct. 29 at Mohouli Senior Residence in Hilo. Born in Honolulu, she was a secretary for YMCA Honoulu-Leeward Communities program in Waipahu, Oahu. Celebration of life 10 a.m. Saturday (Nov. 24) at Coconut Island (Moku Ola). Casual attire. Kenneth A. Warner, 74 of Kailua-Kona died Nov. 9 at Yukio Okutsu State Veterans Home in Hilo. Born in Stafford, Conn., he was a U.S. Navy veteran. Private services held.
