Joe Takao Yamauchi, 99, of Hilo died Sept. 19 at Hilo Medical Center. He was a graduate of the University of California at Berkeley, public accountant in Hilo for more than 50 years, served in the Hawaii Territorial Legislature and Hawaii State Constitutional Convention and served in the U.S. Army’s 100th Infantry Battalion in World War II.
