Debra Kehaulani Isabel, 45, of Pahoa died Oct. 14 at Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center in Las Vegas. Born in Honolulu, she was an eligibility worker for the state Med-Quest Division, a former educational assistant for Pahoa High School and Hawaii Academy of Arts and Science, the 2009 Merrie Monarch Queen and member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Pahoa Ward and Pahoa Higashi Machi Kumiai. Visitation 8-10:30 a.m. Saturday (Nov. 3) at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Keaau. Funeral service at 11 a.m. Cremation to follow. Casual attire. George Nakaleka “Happy” Kamakahi II, 64, of Hilo died Oct. 8 in Las Vegas. Born in Honolulu, he was a senior pastor, founder and president of Thy Word Ministries of Hawaii, Inc., a minister with the Hawaii Police Department chaplaincy, co-founder of Joseph’s Storehouse Outreach Center and member of the Rock N Roll Motorcycle Club and the Cruising Classics car enthusiast club. Rodney Michael Theodore, 70, of Pahoa died Oct. 13 at home. Born in Honolulu, he was a retired bus operator and member of the Teamsters Union. Viewing 10:30-11:30 a.m. Monday (Nov. 5) at Borthwick Mortuary Mauka Chapel in Honolulu. Service at 11:30 a.m. Survived by wife, Elizabeth “Nadine” Theodore of Pahoa; sons, Nadrod Theodore, Rodnad Theodore and Rodney Theodore Jr. of Honolulu; daughters, Corinna (David) Chong, Lauralyn Fa‘afia and Serena Theodore of Honolulu; brother, Robert (Darlene) Theodore of Honolulu; eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild; friends.

Hiroko Cathy Wakamoto, 84, of Hilo died Oct. 11 at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Hilo, she was retired from Aetna Insurance Co. Visitation 11 a.m.-noon Saturday (Nov. 3) at The House Hilo in Hilo. Joe Takao Yamauchi, 99, of Hilo died Sept. 19 at Hilo Medical Center. He was a graduate of the University of California at Berkeley, public accountant in Hilo for more than 50 years, served in the Hawaii Territorial Legislature and Hawaii State Constitutional Convention and served in the U.S. Army’s 100th Infantry Battalion in World War II. Private services held. Survived by son, Dave Yamauchi (Cindy) of Pasadena, Calif.; daughter, Lori Yamauchi (James Fagler) of San Francisco, Calif.; one granddaughter; nieces and nephews.
