Wayne Leopoldino, 77, of Hilo died Oct. 13 at Hawaii Care Choices Pohai Malama Care Center. Born in Hilo, he was a retired contractor. Private services held. Survived by son, Harlan (Ronda) Leopoldino of Hilo; daughters, Debra Carter of Hilo and Cheryl (Kim) Hoshino and Lynnet (Wayne) Gonsalves, both of Mountain View; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Brent Blue Keanu Matsuda, 24, of Honokaa died Sept. 9 at his home in Kukuihaele. Born in Hilo, he lived in Texas where he served in the U.S. Army. He also worked for Allied Security in Waikoloa. Private services held. Celebration of life 10 a.m.-noon Oct. 27 at Hapuna Beach State Park. Flowers welcomed. Lunch to follow. Irene Leiko Ikeda Nagata, 87, of Aiea, Oahu, died Sept. 15. Born in Holualoa, she was a retired intern supervisor for the University of Hawaii at Manoa College of Education. Visitation 10 a.m. Thursday (Oct. 25) at Nuuanu Congregational Church in Honolulu. Service of celebration 11 a.m. No flowers. Casual attire. Akiko Kushida Oda, 86, of Aiea, Oahu, died Oct. 1. Born in Papaikou, she was a retired fifth-grade teacher and reading specialist at Waiakeawaena Elementary School. Ruby C. Rios, 81, of Honokaa died Sept. 18 at her daughter’s residence. Born in Honokaa, she was a homemaker, caregiver and member of Alpha and Omega Church of God. Lisa Gay “Yosh” Yoshizumi Spencer, 61, of Hilo died Sept. 30 at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Hilo, she was a housewife and member of Saint Joseph Catholic Church and Panaewa Chiefs Softball.
