December in Pahoa means Holiday Parade time, and this year will mark the 25th annual holiday event.

Participation in the parade is open to any organization on the island wanting to be in the parade.

Groups can march, entertain, play music or create a float depicting the parade theme.

The theme for the 25th annual parade is “Celebrating Pahoa.” and grand marshal is Ikaika Marzo.

Parade day is Dec. 1. Lineup begins at 8 a.m. and the parade marches at 9:30 a.m. sharp.

Groups wanting to participate can pick up an entry form at Pahoa Used Books in Pahoa, located across from Bank of Hawaii. Alternatively, an email to kelley264@hotmail.com will get an entry form emailed back.

The entry fee is $25; keiki and student groups are free.

Entry forms should be mailed back to the address on the form, enclosing a check for the parade fee, if appropriate.

Entry fees and forms also can be dropped off at Pahoa Used Books.
