Eleanor “Ellie” Rodrigues Hood, 90, of Hilo died Oct. 6 in Hilo. Born in Hilo, she was a retired service representative for the former GTE Hawaiian Telephone Co., Hilo Phone Mart at Kaiko‘o Mall and member of Saint Joseph Catholic Church, Ahualani Kumiai and Kamana Senior Citizens. Visitation 8-10 a.m. Tuesday (Oct. 23) at Saint Joseph Catholic Church in Hilo. Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. Burial to follow at Homelani Memorial Park, Lehua Section. Casual attire. Survived by sister, Emmagene “Emmie” Sherman; nieces and nephews. Arrangements by Dodo Mortuary.

Robert “Papio” H. Keaweopala, 80, of Mountain View died Oct. 8 at home. Born in Hilo, he worked for Mauna Loa Macadamia Nut Co. Private services held. Survived by companion, Evangeline Macaysa of Mountain View; sister, Maude Amaral of Hilo; nieces and nephews. Arrangements by Dodo Mortuary.

Chizuko “Chibi” Beverly Yamaguchi Morgado, 90, of Hilo, formerly of Honolulu, died Sept. 15 at Hale Anuenue Restorative Care Center. Born in Osaka, Japan, she was a homemaker and member of Soka Gakai International. Visitation 9-11 a.m. Tuesday (Oct. 23) at Hawaiian Memorial Park Mortuary in Kaneohe, Oahu. Celebration of life at 11 a.m., with urn burial at 1 p.m. at National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific (Punchbowl). Survived by sons, James Morgado of Hilo and Arnold (Karen) Morgado of Pearl City, Oahu; daughter, Leilani (Duncan) Seto of Hilo; sisters, Akiko Noshita, Yoshiko Wakita and Megumi Yamaguchi of Amagasaki, Japan; brother, Kazushi Yamaguchi of Amagasaki; six grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

Gail Hanae Kotaki Oroku, 66, of Mililani, Oahu, formerly of Paauilo, died Aug. 20 at home. She was a 1970 graduate of Honokaa High School. Visitation 4 p.m. Oct. 27, with services to follow at 5 p.m. at Mililani Memorial Park Mauka Chapel. Private urn burial at a later date. Survived by husband, Steven Oroku, of Mililani; daughter, Kristen (Tyler) Oroku-Werle of Wahiawa, Oahu; son, Kyle (Lynn) Oroku of Mililani; mother, Shizue Kotaki of Paauilo; brothers, Miles “Take” (Vetoann Budgie Baker) Kotaki and Bert (Donna) Kotaki of Hilo, Alvin “Yaku” (Patty Davis) Kotaki of Paauilo; sister, Fay (Tim) Hayes of Honolulu; one granddaughter; nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.

Blanca Andrada Silva, 66, of Hilo died Oct, 12 at home. Born in Urdaneta City, Pangasinan, the Philippines, she was a factory supervisor for Mauna Loa Macadamia Nut Co. and member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Hilo. Visitation 5-7 p.m. Oct. 26, with wake service to follow at 7 p.m. at Dodo Mortuary Chapel. Visitation again from 9-10 a.m. Oct. 27 followed by prayer service at 10 a.m. at Dodo Mortuary Chapel. Casual attire. Flowers welcome. Burial at Homelani Memorial Park (Ilima Section).
