Paula Ruthann Griffin, 69, of Kailua-Kona died Sept. 20 at Hospice of Kona’s Nakamaru Hale in Holualoa. Born in Long Beach, Calif., she was a retired teacher. Private service at a later date. She is survived by daughters, Christi Lee Proue and Misti Lee (Lionel) Lindquistl of California, Windi Lee (Jim) Robinson of Kailua-Kona; hanai sisters, Leslie Bartholomew of California and Junko Itani of Japan; four grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Donald Keala Kawaauhau Jr., 47, of Keaau, died Aug. 27 at home. Born in Hilo, he was a radio personality at KWXX-FM for 19 years and member of Sudden Rush. Visitation 4-6 p.m. Friday (Sept. 28) at Sangha Hall, 424 Kilauea Ave. in Hilo. Service 6-8 p.m. Casual attire. Survived by fiancée, Kalei Piena; sons, Kealoha Resureccion, Mala‘e Resureccion and Cheydon Kawaauhau; parents, Donald and Stella Kawaauhau; brother, Donovan Kawika (Jaynee-Lynn Muller) Kawaauhau; sisters, Donelle K. “Nani” (Geoff Hackley) Kawaauhau and Donala Kahea “G” Kawaauhau; nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. Rosario “Rosa” Cuestas Savella, 80, of Papaikou died Sept. 9, 2018 at The Queen’s Medical Center in Honolulu.
