Lynette “Lyn” Helen Brown, 78, of Hilo died Aug. 30 at home. Born in Paauilo, she was a retired real estate property tax appraiser for the county, real estate broker, co-owner of Bobo Brown’s Catering with her late husband, Elson “Bobo” Brown, and producer for Na Lei Brown Ohana Concerts. Visitation 9-11 a.m. Saturday (Sept. 29) at Dodo Mortuary Chapel. Funeral service at 11 a.m. Cremation to follow. Casual attire. Survived by daughters, Lisa Ann (Gilbert) Barretto of Kapaa, Kauai, Kimberly (Manny) Morante and Glynis Rose (Legin) Moreno of Hilo; brothers, Stanley Cornelio of Los Angeles, Felix Cornelio Jr. of Holualoa and Michael (Catherine) Cornelio of Fremont, Calif.; sister-in-law, Bunette “Haunani” (Stanley) Yorong of Hilo; 14 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandson; nieces, nephews and cousins. Emily Gambalan, 81, of Kapaau died Aug. 29 at The Queen’s Medical Center in Honolulu. Born in Paauhau, she was a retired housekeeper, formerly employed at Hawaii Palm Company, Mauna Kea Beach Hotel and Kohala Nursery, member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and its bereavement committee and Na Kupuna of Hula Halau Kawehileimamoikawekiu ‘o Kohala. Visitation 8-9:30 a.m. Saturday (Sept. 29) at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Hawi. Memorial Mass at 10 a.m. Burial to follow at Halawa Catholic Cemetery. Casual attire. Katherine “Kathy” Ann Powers Himalaya, 59, of Laupahoehoe died Sept. 11 at Hawaii Care Choices Pohai Malama Care Center.
