John T. “Mac” Aguiar, 75, of Hilo died April 24 at home. Born in Hilo, he was a retired equipment operator for the Hawaii Fire Department and member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. Visitation 6-9 p.m. Thursday (May 3) at Dodo Mortuary Chapel. Wake service at 7 p.m. Visitation again 8:30-10 a.m. Friday (May 4) at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Mass at 10 a.m. Burial to follow at Homelani Memorial Park. Casual attire. Survived by son, Jason (Stacey) Aguiar of Hilo; sisters, Leonora (Melvin) Higa of Honolulu and Patricia (Alfonso) Ramirez of California; three grandchildren and a great-granddaughter. Amanda Evalani Rivera Faifai, 56, of Kailua-Kona died March 20 at Life Care Center of Kona. Born in Kealakekua, she was a front desk attendant at the King Kamehameha Hotel, Royal Sea Cliff and Manele Bay on Lanai and gas station cashier on Lanai. Celebration of life 10 a.m. Saturday, May 5, at Honaunau Rodeo Arena. Survived by brothers, Bernard (Lee) Hu of Naalehu, Richard (Nova) Rivera and Guy (Jeri) Rivera of Holualoa; sisters, Bernice (Clayton) Jiminez of Waipahu, Oahu, and Glenda (Richard) Glaser of Kailua-Kona; nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. James “Kimo” Liliokalani Kauahi, 70, of Kailua-Kona died Feb. 28 at Kona Community Hospital. Born in Honolulu, he was a construction worker for the former Hirano Brothers Ltd., tree trimmer, commercial fisherman and former member of Kai O Pua Canoe Club. Celebration of life 9 a.m. Saturday, May 5, at Kahaluu Beach Park large pavilion. Casual attire. Survived by wife, Velma Kauahi of Kailua-Kona; daughter, Wainani Kauahi of Kailua-Kona; hanai daughter, Kalae Yonemura of Kealekehe; hanai son, Leroy Funk of Louisville, Ky.; mother, Lily Jane Nunies of Honolulu; sisters, Judy Santiago and Mercy Kauahi-Jackson of Honolulu and Willette (David) Coleman of Gardena, Calif.; two grandchildren; nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. Teresa Elizabeth Schlecht, 92, of Keauhou died March 11 at Life Care Center of Kona. Born in Chickasha, Okla., she was a retired registered nurse and nurse anesthetist, former operating room supervisor for St. Joseph’s Hospital in Baltimore and member of the Sisters of St. Francis of Philadelphia. Funeral Mass was held on Tuesday at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church. No flowers. Memorial donations to St. Michael’s Church Building Fund. Survived by two nieces. Arrangements by Cremation Services of West Hawaii.

Robert “Bob” Edwin Wiggers, 77, of Mountain View died April 22 at home. Born in Batavia, Indonesia, he was an ordained minister, welder, plastic fabricator, musician and member of the former musical group The Hideaways. Private services in Hawaii and Canada. Survived by wife, Charlotte “Tina” Wiggers of Mountain View; sons, Edwin P. Wiggers of Lloydminster, Alberta, Canada, Marvin P.L. (Holly) Wiggers of Maui and Joel R.T. (Peace) Wiggers of Nanaimo, British Columbia, Canada; daughters, Dawn M. (Ryan) Wiggers of Victoria, B.C., Canada, and Deborah M. (Troy) Soderstrom of Nanaimo; brothers, Ferdinand (Eddy) Wiggers of Holland, Ernst (Doreen) Wiggers of Toronto and Eddie (Joyce) Wiggers of Holland; 12 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
