The public is invited the 37th annual Martin Luther King Jr. community celebration and potluck at 11:30 a.m. Jan. 14 at Old Kona Airport Park’s Maka‘eo pavilion.

The family event celebrating the legacy of the renowned civil rights leader is free. Participants are asked to bring a favorite dish to share.

There also will be displays of art, hula, poems, songs, music and more presented by West Hawaii students and community members.

The late Frank Bramlett, along with Mamie Bramlett and Virginia Halliday, paved the way for the West Hawaii celebration.
