Hawaii Electric Light Company has announced that it will be doing construction work Oct. 10-Dec. 29 along Banyan Drive in Hilo between Banyan Way and Lihiwai Street.
Crews will generally be onsite from 7:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. weekdays, except on holidays. Partial lane closures may be needed for heavy equipment to move, although the work itself will be occurring off the roadway.
“Motorists are asked to slow down and drive with caution in the construction area,” says a HELCO announcement.
The work is intended “to upgrade underground infrastructure and improve service reliability for customers.”
