Melvin Keahi “Blur” Inay, 71, of Honolulu died March 14 in Honolulu. Born in Puna, he grew up in Kapoho and Pahoa. Private services were held at Homelani Memorial Park in Hilo. Survived by sisters, Hannah Gentry of San Diego, Lorraine AhYo of Pahoa and Marvis (James) Miyashiro of Pearl City, Oahu; hanai brother, Carter Ku of Moreno Valley, Calif.; stepmother, Virginia (Alton) Shiroma of Keaau; stepsister Jennifer (Ron) Fulinara of Trabuco Canyon, Calif; godchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. Tsutaye Higuchi Nonaka, 94, of Hilo died April 2 at the Hilo Medical Center. Born in Makawao, Maui, she was a worker at the Amano Fish Cake Factory and a member of the Tenrikyo Hilo Church. Services were held. No koden (monetary gifts) or flowers. Survived by son, Michael (Myrna) Nonaka of Hilo; sisters, Sets Isa and Chizuru (Joe) Sugawara, both of Hilo, and Carole Yano of Honolulu; 3 grandchildren. Demetrio Del Rosario Viacrusis, 80, of Keaau died April 27 at the Hospice of Hilo Pohai Malama Facility. Born in Olongapo City, the Philippines, he was a retired stevedore and warehouseman. Visitation 8-10 a.m. Tuesday (May 2) at Pahoa Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Memorial mass at 10 a.m. Casual attire. Survived by sons, Noel Viacrusis of California, Emmanuel Viacrusis of California and Irisgil Viacrusis of Hawaiian Paradise Park; daughter, Doris Liwanag of California; brother, Danilo Viacrusis of the Philippines; sisters, Lolita Galano, Clarita Cainap, Corazon Ledesma, Aurora Anesco, Gloria Paranada, Lucy Asuncion and Catalina Cuena, all of California; 10 grandchildren; numerous nephews, nieces and cousins.
