Born in Milwaukee, she was a licensed clinical social worker in private practice, taught at the University of Hawaii at Hilo, mentored new social workers, received Social Work Director of the Year awards in Wisconsin and Virginia, was president of Hawaii Writers Association and member of the Hilo Medical Center Foundation and Board and American Association of University Women. Memorial service 2 p.m. Sunday, July 17, at Wailoa State Park large pavilion. Refreshments will be served. No flowers; memorial donations to Hawaii Public Radio or the Palace Theater.
