Sadako “Alice” Kina, 94, of Hilo died Sept. 1 at Hale Anuenue Restorative Care Center. Born in Kukuihaile, she was a retired lead lady for Mauna Loa Macadamia Nut Co. and member of Puna Hongwanji Mission and Hui Okinawa. Services held. Survived by sons, Thomas (Janet) Kina of Hilo, Alfred (Patsy) Kina of Hawaiian Paradise Park, George (Mary) Kina of Keaau, Howard Kina of Mountain View and Dick (Lisa) Kina of Orchidland; daughter, Helen (Tom) Garrett-Kennedy of Fort Worth, Texas; 10 grandchildren, three stepgrandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and four stepgreat-grandchildren; nieces.
