Ocean View Evangelical Community Church will host its third annual Ho‘olaule‘a luau from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Aug. 8. The event is free and open to the public.

Ocean View Evangelical Community Church will host its third annual Ho‘olaule‘a luau from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Aug. 8. The event is free and open to the public.

Registration for the alcohol- and drug-free luau begins at 9 a.m., followed by a day of food, festivities and fun.

Hawaiian food will be served, including lomi lomi salmon, chicken long rice and kalua pig — while supplies last. There will be a bounce-house, tie-dying (bring a white or light color item to dye), face painting and games with prizes for keiki.

Churches from the Ka‘u area will present entertainment, and a variety of social services will be available. Many local business donated door prizes. Ocean View Evangelical Community Church is located at 92-8977 Leilani Circle.
