Aloha Performing Arts Company resumed its roster of theatre education opportunities for all ages this month.

Jerry Tracy’s Tuesday Troupers class for 8- to 12-year-old budding performers begins April 21 and meets for six Tuesdays from 3:30-5:30 p.m., ending May 26 with a free public performance at 5 p.m.

Students will work on developing and maintaining the tools and skills required for performing on the stage. Tracy will be assisted by Aloha Teen Theatre member Riley Newton. Tuition for Tuesday Troupers is $60 per student.

On Wednesdays from 3:30-4:30 p.m. April 22 through May 13, Megan Hodge will continue APAC’s Keiki Theatre class for children ages 3-7. This is a fun and meaningful introduction to theater basics, featuring theater games, building characters and gaining self-confidence.

There will be four meetings, with a sharing show on the final day. Keiki Theatre tuition is $40 per student.

Felicity Johnson fires up her Intergenerational Acting class for all ages on Thursdays from 2-4 p.m. April 23 through May 28. No experience is required and newcomers are welcome. A free public show will be offered on the final class day. Tuition is $60 per student, based on $10 per class.

All classes will be at the historic Aloha Theatre in Kainaliu.

In addition, Hodge continues as interim adviser for Aloha Teen Theatre, which meets 4-6 p.m. every Friday at the APAC Loft, across the street from Aloha Theatre. Participation is free and open to ages 13-19.

Educational as well as performance and travel opportunities are in the plans for the coming year.
