HAGATNA, Guam (AP) — Guam National Guard members will be covered by a federally funded unemployment program if they can’t find work when they return from Afghanistan.

But there’s a catch. They have to sign up at Camp Shelby, Miss., their last stop in post-deployment processing before returning home in the next few weeks.

Another media outlet reported Guam doesn’t have its own unemployment insurance program, but some guard members and reservists will be covered in the federal Unemployment Compensation for Ex-Service Members Program.
