The National Tropical Botanical Garden has partnered with ProService Hawaii, the state’s largest human resources administration firm, to handle HR administration for the 130 employees at its administrative headquarters and four gardens located in the only tropical climate zones in the United States: in Hawaii on Kauai, Maui and Hawaii Island, and on the mainland in Coconut Grove, Fla.
The move will allow the nonprofit organization to focus on its mission: to enrich life through discovery, scientific research, conservation, and education by perpetuating the survival of plants, ecosystems, and cultural knowledge of tropical regions.
“We appreciate the ability to direct our limited funds toward our mission, not toward the business of managing HR minutiae,” said Janet Mayfield, COO and CFO. “By outsourcing our HR administration needs to ProService, we benefit from long-term cost containment and invaluable support to our in-house HR team,” she said. ProService will utilize its proprietary Human Resources Management System, UltiPro, to handle payroll, benefits management, risk management, time & attendance, monthly financial reports, HR support and daily administration for NTBG.
