The auditorium at Kilauea Visitor Center in Hawaii Volcanoes National Park will close Thursday and Friday (March 21-22) for preliminary electrical work in advance of a planned upgrade slated for April 8-15.
The auditorium will again close temporarily from April 8-15 for system upgrades. The visitor center will remain open during both closures, but park films normally shown in the auditorium will not be shown during this time.
The long-needed improvements to the auditorium, including a new sound system and a new screen, will be supervised by the National Park Service and are funded by park entrance fee revenue.
