BOE to hold public meetings next week in Hawaii County
The Hawaii State Board of Education is holding a series of community engagement meetings across the state so the public can engage with board members and Department of Education staff about the early childhood workforce.
Two of the meetings are in Hawaii County next week.

The first meeting will be from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 19, at Chieffess Kapi‘olani Elementary School in Hilo.
The second meeting will be from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 20, at Ka‘u High School and Pahala Elementary School in Pahala.
The community meetings are part of the board’s participation in the National Association of State Boards of Education’s Early Childhood Education State Network.
The meetings will inform data collection and reporting on the early childhood workforce.
Additionally, information will be shared and feedback solicited on graduation requirements.
