Zacarias “Zack” John Abregano, 94, of Hilo died May 17 at Yukio Okutsu State Veterans Home. Born in Ewa, Oahu, he was a retired welder at Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard Shop 26, member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3875, Korean War Veterans Associatioon and U.S. Army veteran during the Korean War. Visitation 3:30-5 p.m. Wednesday (June 4) at Dodo Mortuary Chapel. Wake service at 5 p.m. Visitation again 8-9 a.m. Thursday (June 5) at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Funeral Mass at 9:30 a.m. Burial 11:30 a.m. at the East Hawaii Veterans Cemetery No. 2. Casual attire. Survived by wife, Lucia Abregano of Hilo; sons, Jeffery (Melisa) Abregano of Ewa Beach, Oahu, and Neal Abregano of Hilo; sister, Olivia Betonio of Aiea, Oahu; sisters-in-law, Carol Abregano of Pearl City, Oahu, Roseline (Emery) Wong of California and Mary Lou Abregana of Hilo; brother-in-law, Ashley Hung of Hilo; a granddaughter and great-grandson; nieces and nephews.
