Dwight L.K. Decker, 76 of Kamuela, passed away on May 1 at home. Born in Honolulu, he was the founder/owner of Kamuela Taxi, former rancher for Parker Ranch and worked for Mauna Kea Hotel, Blue Hawaiian Helicopters and was a caregiver. Service from 9-11:30 a.m. Saturday, June 21 at Imiola Church-Kamuela. Lunch to follow at noon at Laiana Hall. Releasing of ashes at Kauwe Cemetery. Theo Toyoko Kushi, 79, of Hilo died March 13 at Hilo Benioff Medical Center. Born in Salt Lake City, Utah, she grew up in Parlier, Calif., and was a teacher at Kea‘au Elementary School, a librarian and an active member of the Honpa Hongwanji Hilo Betsuin and its Buddhist Women’s Association. Private services held. Survived by husband, Herbert Kushi of Hilo; children, Devin (Jean) Kushi of Torrance, California, Blake Kushi of Los Angeles, California, Nyssa (Scott) Kushi of Hilo; four grandchildren. Yuriko “Yuri” Omonaka, 93, of Pepeekeo died March 19 at her home. Born in South Hilo, she was a retired bookkeeper, a member of the Honomu Hongwanji Mission and a volunteer for RSVP. Godfrey Sopio Palacat Sr., 75, of Kailua-Kona died March 8. Walter Lee Robinson, 78, of Hilo died May 12 at Hilo Benioff Medical Center. Born in Inverness, Miss., he was a retired licensed practical nurse at Hines Veterans Hospital in Illinois, an ordained minister and a veteran of the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. Military honors will begin at 11:30 a.m. Thursday (May 29) at the East Hawaii Veterans Cemetery No. 2 Pavilion. Burial to follow.
