Christine Lani O‘pua Baldado, 87, of Papaikou died April 13 at Legacy Hilo Rehabilitation Center. Born in Kalaoa Mauka, Papaikou, she was a dedicated athlete, competing in senior league softball, canoe paddling with Kai Malia Canoe Club, volleyball with Puakenikeni Volleyball Club at Haili and a devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Honomu Ward. Visitation from 8-10 a.m. Friday, May 30 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 522 Ponahawai Street, Hilo. Service at 10 a.m. followed by burial at Alae Cemetery. Aloha attire encouraged.
