Trump says he wants $9 billion Keystone XL pipeline to be built
WASHINGTON (Reuters) — Republican U.S. President Donald Trump said on Monday he wanted the Keystone XL Pipeline built and pledged easy regulatory approvals for the crude oil project, which was opposed for years by environmentalists before its permit was revoked by the Biden administration.

The $9 billion pipeline was first proposed in 2008 to bring 830,000 barrels per day of oil from Canada’s Western tar sands to U.S. refiners and was halted in 2021 by then-owner TC Energy after former Democratic President Joe Biden revoked a key permit needed for a U.S. stretch of the project.
In a social media post on Monday, Trump urged the company that was building the pipeline to “come back to America,” saying his administration would offer easy approvals and an almost immediate start, though the company said on Tuesday that it had moved on from the project.
Apple shareholders vote to keep its diversity policies
(Reuters) — Apple shareholders voted to keep the tech giant’s diversity, equity and inclusion policies on Tuesday, a win for management which had opposed efforts by a conservative group to scrap the program.
The vote at the iPhone maker’s annual meeting was seen as a test of shareholder views about the value of DEI programs, which many companies added or beefed up starting in 2020 amid the Black Lives Matter movement.
A growing conservative backlash has pushed major U.S. companies, including Meta and Alphabet, to drop DEI initiatives ahead of and following Donald Trump’s return to the U.S. presidency.
Trump has criticized corporate DEI programs as discriminatory and suggested the U.S. Department of Justice could investigate whether such efforts violate the law.
Trump floats $5M ‘gold card’ as a route to US citizenship
WASHINGTON (Reuters) — U.S. President Donald Trump on Tuesday floated the idea of replacing a visa program for foreign investors with a so-called “gold card” that could be bought for $5 million as a route to American citizenship.
Trump told reporters he will replace the “EB-5” immigrant investor visa program, which allows foreign investors of large sums of money that create or preserve U.S. jobs to become permanent residents, with a so-called “gold card.”
The EB-5 program grants “green cards” to foreigners promising to invest in U.S. businesses.
“We are going to be selling a gold card,” Trump said. “We are going to be putting a price on that card of about $5 million,” he added.
Over 230,000 sign petition to revoke Musk’s Canadian citizenship
(NYT) — More than 230,000 Canadians have signed a petition to revoke Elon Musk’s Canadian citizenship and passport over what the petition calls his attempts to engage in practices that go against Canada’s national interest.
The petition said Musk had “become a member of a foreign government that is attempting to erase Canadian sovereignty.” It was an apparent reference to Musk’s work for President Donald Trump, who has repeatedly said he wants to annex Canada and make it “our 51st state.”
