With the Hawai‘i high school soccer season ending, the Big Island Interscholastic Federation (BIIF) released its all-conference boys teams for the 2024-25 season, and the selections came as no surprise to many.
Division II state champion Kamehameha Schools-Hawai‘i took up eight of the 13 spots on the DII All-BIIF Team. Senior midfielder William Henderson was selected, also being named BIIF DII Player of the Year. Henderson played a critical role in the Warriors’ 14-0-0 season — finishing with 10 goals. Perhaps his most crucial play of the season came in the state semifinals against Seabury Hall, where Henderson scored the game-winning goal in overtime. He also finished with a goal in the CPB/BIIF DII Championship against Hawaii Preparatory Academy, while also finding teammate Kingston Akuna for the game-winning assist in the state title match against Kapa‘a.
KSH forward Micah Chung was also named to the DII All-BIIF team after leading the champs in goals with 14. Fellow forward teammate Gabriel Arquitola was selected alongside Chung, finishing the year with eight goals. Arquitola’s scoring came in important moments in the season, notching goals in the BIIF DII title match and in the state quarterfinals against Kalaheo.
Other Warriors to make the team were midfielder Everton Kuamo‘o and Ryder Okamura, backs Reef Vasquez and Thurston La‘a and goalkeeper Jacob Aiona.
Aiona played a big part in KSH’s eight shutouts. The Warriors finished the season with a 65-8 goal differential.
HPA had three selections to the DII team — forward Kena Craven, midifielder Skye Raymond and back Kauila Kapuniai. Ka Makani finished 2024-25 placing second in BIIF DII and making the state tournament. The red and white posted a 52-11 goal differential across their 14 matches.
Parker midfielder Takumi Wetherell and Honoka‘a back Chance “Ka‘imi” Kim rounded out the remainder of the DII team.
The DI All-BIIF selections consisted of a wider variety of schools, led by BIIF DI champion Hilo with forward Brennan Barrientos, midfielder Channing Oda and back Nahulu Chartrand Barco. The Vikings finished 2024-25 with an 8-3-1 overall record with a state tournament appearance.
BIIF DI runner-up Kea‘au had three selections to the team, including DI Player of the Year Rayden Handy. His teammates, forward Dane Ramey and back Joziah Dillon, were also named. The Cougars posted a 4-5-0 overall record with an HHSAA tournament association. Kealakehe also had three players make the team — midfielder Ezekiel Imai and backs Brayden Heldt and Koa Rubenstein. Waiakea forward Kolby Okutsu and teammate midfielder Austin Mohica also made the team. Konawaena freshman goalie Mason Pi rounded out the DI team. Pi was the only freshman to be named from either team.
