KA’UPULEHU-KONA, Hawaii – The Mitsubishi Electric Championship at Hualalai, which kicks off today, held its charitable contribution check presentation on Tuesday afternoon — celebrating the tournament’s contributions from 2024. Since the Mitsubishi Electric Championship moved to Hualalai Golf Course in 1997, the tournament has donated $2.37 million to local community organizations.
A total of $287,500 was split up among the Rotary Club of Kona, Daniel R. Sayre Foundation, Big Island Junior Golf Association, Pua ka Ilima Historical Surf Park and Hualalai Ohana Foundation.
“We are grateful for the wonderful partnerships and the great work each of these organizations do for the Island of Hawaii communities,” Tournament Manager Kelly Fliear said. “It is always great to see the impact these donations have made since we came to the Big Island in 1997.”

Through both of their PGA TOUR Champions events, more than $5 million has been donated to local charities.
