Born in Honolulu, he was founder of Bertelmann Inc., an elder of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Hawaiian homestead rancher, Boy Scouts Troop 140 leader and lifetime supporter of Na Kalai Wa‘a.
